Ingredients
Scale
Eggs and Filling
- 1 dozen eggs
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- 2 teaspoons wasabi paste
- ¼ teaspoon salt
Toppings and Garnishes
- ½ cup cooked crab meat
- 1 avocado, thinly sliced
- ½ cucumber, thinly sliced
- Radishes, thinly sliced
- Black sesame seeds, for garnish
Instructions
- Boil the Eggs: Place the eggs in a large saucepan and add enough cold water to cover the eggs by about 1 inch. Bring the water to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, cover the saucepan and remove it from heat. Let the eggs stand in the hot water for 13 minutes to cook through.
- Cool and Peel Eggs: Drain the hot water and immediately transfer the eggs to an ice-water bath to cool completely. Once cooled, gently peel the eggs to remove the shells.
- Prepare the Filling: Slice the peeled eggs in half lengthwise. Carefully remove the yolks and place them in a medium bowl. Mash the yolks with a fork until smooth, then stir in the mayonnaise, wasabi paste, and salt until the mixture is creamy and well combined.
- Fill the Egg Whites: Using a spoon or piping bag, fill the egg white halves with the wasabi-mayo yolk mixture, distributing it evenly among all the halves.
- Add Toppings: Top each filled egg half with a small amount of cooked crab meat. Garnish with thin slices of avocado, cucumber, and radish, then sprinkle black sesame seeds on top for a finishing touch.
Notes
- Use fresh eggs for easier peeling and better texture.
- You can substitute real crab meat with imitation crab if preferred.
- Adjust the amount of wasabi paste according to your preferred spice level.
- Chill deviled eggs before serving for best flavor and texture.
- Black sesame seeds add a nice visual contrast; toast them lightly for extra flavor if desired.
