Ingredients
Scale
Wet Ingredients
- 1/2 cup creamy almond butter
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Dry Ingredients
- 1/2 cup almond flour
- 1 scoop chocolate protein powder
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/8 teaspoon sea salt
Chocolate Coating
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 teaspoon coconut oil
Garnish
- Flaky sea salt, for sprinkling on top
Instructions
- Prepare the tray: Line a baking sheet or tray with parchment paper and set aside for placing the balls later.
- Mix wet ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the almond butter, honey, and vanilla extract. Stir together thoroughly until the mixture is smooth and cohesive.
- Add dry ingredients: Add almond flour, chocolate protein powder, unsweetened cocoa powder, and sea salt to the wet mixture. Stir until all ingredients are fully combined into a uniform dough.
- Form balls and chill: Roll the mixture into small balls (about 1 to 2 tablespoons each). Place them on the prepared baking sheet. Freeze for 15 minutes or refrigerate for 30 minutes to firm up.
- Melt chocolate coating: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine chocolate chips and coconut oil. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until the mixture is fully melted and smooth.
- Dip balls in chocolate: Using a spoon, dip each brownie ball into the melted chocolate to coat thoroughly. Lift the ball out, allowing excess chocolate to drip off. Tap gently on the side of the bowl to remove excess coating.
- Garnish and set: Place the coated balls back on the parchment-lined tray. Sprinkle each with flaky sea salt for a touch of savory contrast.
- Refrigerate and store: Refrigerate the balls for at least 1 hour to allow the chocolate to set properly. Once set, store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks or freeze for up to 3 months, layering with parchment or wax paper to prevent sticking.
